Maya's interest in behaviour was sparked already during her veterinary studies at the university of Bern (Switzerland) and has continued on ever since then: doctorate in veterinary medicine focussing on aggression in dogs (2000), diploma of the Swiss association of veterinary behavioural medicine (STVV) in 2003, several behavioural dog training courses, 2.5 years learning from and working with Prof. Daniel Mills in Lincoln (UK), non-conforming residency in veterinary behavioural medicine of the ECAWBM(BM) and diplomate of the ECAWBM(BM) since 2020, currently member of the exam committee of the ECABM(BM). She is also a Canine Bowen Practitioner and has studied veterinary herbal medicine. Currently Maya is further broadening her knowledge by training osteopathy in Switzerland and learning about thermal imaging. Her main research interest is animal personality and individuality.
Maya is currently based in Switzerland, working in her private practice (www.mayanimal.ch) and at the veterinary hospital of Zürich (www.tierspital.uzh.ch)
