Alexander Grahofer is a senior scientist at the Clinic for Swine, Department of Clinical Veterinary Science, Vetsuisse Faculty, University Bern and teaches pig medicine and reproduction. He studied veterinary medicine at the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna, Austria and received his DVM at the University of Bern, Switzerland. He is Diplomate of the European College of Porcine Health Management (ECPHM) and of the European College of Animal Reproduction (ECAR). Current research is focused on pig reproduction, especially on parturition and the peripartal period of sows in a free farrowing system. Furthermore, he is developing innovative and new learning tools for veterinary medicine.
