EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist in Small Ruminant Health Management
He has been working with sheep in a full time, in Gabinete Técnico Veterinario SL, since he
graduated at the Veterinary Faculty of Zaragoza in 1996. He works as advisor on sheep production
(management, nutrition, reproduction and sanitary matters) for farmers, cooperatives, regional
governments, veterinary groups and laboratories. In 2014, he obtained the Diploma of the
European College of Small Ruminant Health and Management. He achieved the Philosophical
Doctor degree from Veterinary Faculty of Zaragoza University (Spain) in 2016, with a distinction
“cum laude”, for a research developed on ovine respiratory complex. Nowadays, He combines his
activities as advisor with his work as associated lecturer at the Veterinary Faculty of Zaragoza
University. Since 1998 he has been working in housed fattening lambs and he has published 10
articles, in journals within the impact factor system, based on this subject. He works with different
feedlots, throughout Spain, in where around one million lambs are fattened annually. He has
developed several research projects, both public and private, on this topic and participates in the
Spanish Committee for the implementation of European Action plan against antimicrobial
resistance. Furthermore, he is author of many publications in other national and international
journals and he has more than one hundred presentations in national and international scientific
meetings. Finally, he is member of the Scientific Committee of the Spanish Society of Sheep and
Goat Production (SEOC) and the Tierras Ovino – Pequeños Rumiantes journal from 2012.
