Graduated in 2010 with an Integrated Master’s degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Lisbon (FMV-UL). Subsequently completed several internships in veterinary dermatology, including at the FMV-UL Teaching Hospital and at Studio Dermatologico Veterinario in Milan, Italy.
In 2011, joined the internship team at the Fundació Hospital Clínic Veterinari of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (FHCV-UAB), and in the following year began a three-year residency programme in Veterinary Dermatology accredited by the European College of Veterinary Dermatology (ECVD). Awarded Diplomate status by the ECVD in 2016.
Between 2015 and 2020, part of the dermatology team at the referral hospital Animal Health Trust in the United Kingdom. In 2018, co-founded the Portuguese Society of Veterinary Dermatology, serving as President of the Board until 2020.
Currently Head of the Dermatology Service at the Hospital Veterinário do Porto, where the first residency and internship programmes in veterinary dermatology in Portugal were established. Also Guest Lecturer at Lusófona University and the University of Porto.
Author of scientific publications and frequent speaker at national and international conferences.
Outside veterinary medicine, passionate about outdoor sports, advocate for causes such as feminism and humanized childbirth, and mother of a three-year-old boy.
