Prof. Maja Louise Arendt
Denmark
I currently work as a veterinary oncologist at the University of Copenhagen and combine this with my role as Professor in Molecular Oncology. My research focusses primarily on comparative oncogenetics and computational biology. My aim is to understand cancer across species and by finding shared denominators between human and canine cancer, I hope to identify essential targets for therapeutic intervention. I have trained as an oncology resident at the University of Cambridge and performed my rotating internship at the University of Glasgow. I have done a Post Doc in comparative genetics in the Kerstin Lindblad-Toh comparative genetics and genomics research group at Uppsala University. I am still affiliated with the research group. I did my PhD in Telomerase targeted gene therapy at the University of Glasgow under supervision of Professor Iain Morgan and Lubna Nasir.
