EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist in Small Animal Cardiology
After graduating from the University of Zaragoza, Domingo completed an internship at the Animal Medical Center (Manchester) and worked in two large hospitals in the UK where he obtained RCVS Certificates in Small Animal Medicine and Veterinary Cardiology. Then, in 2006, he joined the University of Bristol as a resident where he spent 7 years in two training programmes: first in Small Animal Internal Medicine and then in Veterinary Cardiology, which led him to become a double Diplomate in Small Animal Internal Medicine (ECVIM) and Veterinary Cardiology (ECVIM and RCVS) and a European and RCVS Specialist in Small Animal Cardiology/Veterinary Cardiology. He remained at the University of Bristol Small Animal Hospital until 2016 and afterwards worked in two referral hospitals Dick White Referrals and Southfields Veterinary Specialists (as Head of Cardiology and Cardiopulmonary). Domingo is currently a Senior Lecturer and Head of the Cardiology, Respiratory and Interventional Cardiology Service at the Small Animal Hospital/Catholic University of Valencia since April 2020. He is also director of the European residency programme ECVIM-CA in Cardiology and Internal Medicine at this institution.
Domingo did his PhD studying the cardiovascular effects of Leishmania Infantum. He has published numerous scientific articles, written book chapters in Cardiology and Respiratory Medicine and has received research grants. He has also lectured extensively at national and international conferences and is the scientific director and co-founder of the consultancy and training company Panacea-Vet. Domingo's main areas of clinical interest include advanced echocardiography, interventional surgery and the interaction between cardiac and respiratory conditions.
