
Dr. Riccardo FINOTELLO

Riccardo Finotello graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Pisa (Italy) in 2007 and obtained a PhD in Veterinary Science from the same university in 2011.
He completed a residency in Veterinary Oncology at the University of Liverpool (UK) from 2010 to 2013, and subsequently held the position of Oberarzt (Senior Clinician) in Veterinary Oncology at the University of Zurich (Switzerland).
In September 2015, he returned to the University of Liverpool, where he was appointed Senior Lecturer in August 2016. From October 2017 to October 2022, he led the Small Animal Oncology Service as Head of Service.
In October 2022, Riccardo was appointed Associate Professor at the Department of Veterinary Medicine, University of Bari (Italy). In October 2023, he joined AniCura Italy Holding S.r.l. as Head of Oncology at the Portoni Rossi Referral Hospital in Zola Predosa, Bologna.
Riccardo is a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine – Companion Animals (Oncology), and a recognised Specialist in Veterinary Oncology (Small Animals) by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).
He is the author and co-author of numerous scientific articles published in international peer-reviewed journals.
He is an active member of the European Society of Veterinary Oncology (ESVONC) and the European Canine Lymphoma Network (ECLN). He currently serves as Chair of the ECVIM-CA Oncology Credentials Committee and as the EBVS National Representative for Italy.
