EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist in Small Animal Oncology
Riccardo Finotello graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Pisa, Italy, in 2007 and obtained a PhD in Veterinary Science from the same institution in 2011. He completed a residency in Veterinary Oncology at the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom, before serving as Oberarzt (Senior Clinician) in Veterinary Oncology at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. In 2015, he returned to the University of Liverpool and was appointed Senior Lecturer in 2016, subsequently leading the Small Animal Oncology Service as Head of Service. In 2022, he returned to Italy as Associate Professor at the Department of Veterinary Medicine, University of Bari, Italy. In 2026, he was appointed Associate Professor in the Department of Human Sciences at Link University, Rome, Italy. Since 2023, he has also led the Oncology Service at the AniCura Portoni Rossi Referral Hospital in Zola Predosa, Bologna. Riccardo Finotello is a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Companion Animals, in Oncology, a recognised RCVS Specialist in Veterinary Oncology, and a Fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons for Meritorious Contributions to Clinical Practice. He is the author and co-author of numerous scientific articles published in international peer-reviewed journals. He is an active member of the European Society of Veterinary Oncology and currently serves as Chair of the ECVIM-CA Oncology Specialty and as EBVS National Representative for Italy.
