Jens Peter Nielsen, professor of Pig Health at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark since 1997. Research and teaching within control and prevention infectious and non-infectious diseases by means of diagnostic procedures, vaccination, prudent use of antibiotics and management improvements. Current research includes intestinal health of growing pigs, reduction of antimicrobial use in pig herds, biosecurity in intensive and extensive pig production systems, and robustness associated with the intestinal microbiome.
