Degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Zaragoza, Spain (1983) and PhD in Veterinary Medicine by the University of Murcia, Spain (1989). Post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Sydney (Australia) during 1992 under the supervision of Professor W.M. Maxwell. Founding Diplomate of the European College of Animal Reproduction (ECAR) since 2000 and founding Diplomate of the European College of Porcine Health Management (ECPHM) since 2010. The research activity is focused on animal reproductive biotechnologies, mainly in pigs, with a double purpose, being the first to improve the reproductive efficiency of this relevant livestock species and the second to research human fertility troubles by using pig as animal model.
