Yolanda qualified from the UAB and worked in general practice in Spain before moving to the UK to pursue further training in veterinary cardiology. She completed a specialist internship, followed by a clinical residency, obtaining her specialist status in Veterinary Cardiology in 2009. Since then she has provided referral cardiopulmonary services in academia (Liverpool, Edinburgh) and mobile referrals. Since 2013 she is based in Edinburgh combining clinical, teaching (undergraduate and postgraduate) and research activities. She has been a member of the ECVIM Cardiology Certifying and General Exam committees and is currently completing a part-time PhD in competency-based veterinary education.
