After graduating (2008) and working in Portugal (2009), I completed two small animal internships in centers of excellence in the United Kingdom (NKR Veterinary Specialists - 2010; University of Liverpool - 2011). ​ In 2012, I moved to Switzerland, where I began a residency in small animal cardiology at the University of Zurich. Simultaneously, I undertook a Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice in veterinary cardiology (University of Edinburgh, completed in 2017). In 2018, I successfully achieved the status of EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist in Cardiology and graduated from the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine – Companion Animals (DipECVIM-CA Cardiology). I currently work as a freelance small animal cardiologist in Portugal and Switzerland, providing state of the art cardiology services to selected specialist small animal clinics.
