He graduated cum laude in 2010 from the University of Bari, where he subsequently obtained a 3-year degree of Specialization. Moreover, he completed a 1-year Small Animal Rotating Internship during which he found out his passion for cardiology. He continued his training in this field by completing a 1-year Specialty Internship (Cardiology), followed by a PhD program focused on cardiology at Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences (DIMEVET) of the University of Bologna and, later, a Master at the Department of Cardiac, Thoracic and Vascular Science and Public Health of the University of Padova. Subsequently, he completed a Residency in Cardiology under the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine shared between the Universities of Bologna and Zurich, becoming a Cardiology Diplomate in 2021. During his training, he performed visiting periods both in Europe and U.S.A. as a professional update.
Since 2014 he works at the DIMEVET, currently as Senior Assistant Professor and Head of the Cardiology Unit, carrying out clinical, teaching and research activities mainly related to cardiology. He has been speaker at national and international scientific meetings, including congresses, courses and University Master's degree programs. Furthermore, he is an active reviewer of scientific manuscripts, having contributed to over 20 different peer-reviewed journals in this role, author of numerous publications, including book chapters and more than 60 scientific articles, and Associate Editor (Cardiology) of the Journal of Small Animal Practice.
