Prof. Dr. Gerhard Wess, DVM, PhD, Dipl. ACVIM and Dipl. ECVIM-CA, is Head of the Cardiology Service at LMU Munich. He has led the service since 2003 and is internationally recognized for his expertise in small-animal cardiology. His clinical and research interests include cardiomyopathies, advanced echocardiographic imaging, cardiac biomarkers, genetic testing, interventional cardiology, and the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease in dogs and cats. He is actively involved in postgraduate education and serves as a residency and continuing education program director in veterinary cardiology.
