Dr Ortillés graduated from the University of Zaragoza (Spain) in 2011. Afterwards, he undertook a two-year rotating (2012-2013) and a three-year ophthalmology internship (2014-2016) in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital at the same university. During this period, he also completed a Master of Science in clinical research (2012), two post-graduate degrees (2015-2016), as well as different clinical rotations in the United States, Italy and Spain. Dr Ortillés successfully completed his PhD on corneal collagen cross-linking in April 2017. From 2017 to 2020, he performed the ECVO residency at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain), obtaining the diploma in 2021. Since then, he is Head of Ophthalmology of the AniCura Valencia Sur Veterinary Hospital in Spain.
