Tijs Tobias is a veterinarian and senior veterinarian in the department of swine health at Royal GD Deventer. He is involved in both animal health monitoring as well as (applied) research projects. Besides Tijs is seconded as Associated researcher to Utrecht University. Tijs is a diplomate of the European College of Porcine Health Management and as such an EBVS Registered European Veterinary Specialist in Porcine Health Management. His research is that of pigs in general, but with a focus on the epidemiology of infectious diseases. However, specific welfare topics related to pigs have his special interest as well. Tijs is a member of the Dutch Welfare Committee for Notifiable Diseases for the Ministry of Agriculture
