After a stint of a few years in small animal first opinion practice in Bucharest, Romania, I moved to carry food safety work as part of the formerly known Meat Hygiene Sector in the UK. The variety of roles I fulfilled within the meat hygiene sector opened my passion for public health. I then pursued relevant postgraduate studies and a career within academia, as well as completing a residency in Food Science with the European College of Veterinary Public Health at the training center affiliated with the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies which has been my home institution since 2014.
