Qualified veterinarian from the University of Liège (Belgium), Master of Science from the University of Montreal (Canada), Privat Dozent in 1998 from the University of Bern (Switzerland) and ECVS Diplomate since 1994. Post-graduate degrees were obtained based on studies about noninvasive assessment of equine bone and the effect of bisphosphonate on this tissue. Actual clinical research are focused on guttural pouch, wound healing and joint resurfacing with hyaline cartilage beads. Author or co-author of more than 170 refereed publications and invited speaker on more than 150 occasions. Since 2006, Full Professor in equine surgery and Head of the Equine Health Centre at the National Veterinary School of Lyon (VetAgro Sup) in France and since 2020 also Associate Professor at the Interstate School of Veterinary medicine (EISMV) of Dakar in Senegal. President of the European Society for Veterinary Orthopaedics and Traumatology (ESVOT) from 2008 to 2010 and actual Chair of the Board of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS) 2022-2025.
