Professor in Small Animal Surgery – University of Nottingham RCVS and EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist in Small Animal Surgery Dr. Daniela Murgia is an EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist in Small Animal Surgery since 2006 and achieved RCVS Specialist Status in 2014. More recently, she has obtained advanced certifications in Small Animal Soft Tissue Surgery (SASTS) and Oncology. Since 2010, Dr. Murgia has held leadership roles as a Soft Tissue Surgery Consultant, Senior Lecturer, and Head of Soft Tissue Surgery in both private and academic referral institutions across the UK. As active member of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS), Dr. Murgia has chaired the ECVS Credentials Committee. She is active member of the AVSTS scientific committee and ARC ( AVSTS Research Cooperative) and has vast experience in teaching to veterinary under- and post-graduates. She is also a contributor to national and international conferences and soft tissue surgery courses. Her clinical interests include oncologic, maxilla-facial surgery, respiratory tract surgery, and the management of urinary incontinence. She has trained in endo-urology and endo-vascualar procedures at the AMC(NY) and most recently she has undertaken advanced training in brain surgery and hypophysectomy in dogs and cats.
