Francesco graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Padua, Italy, in 2006. After spending several years as a general practitioner, he moved to the UK in 2010 to begin a residency in Veterinary Clinical Pathology at the Department of Veterinary Medicine, University of Cambridge. He completed the program in 2013, earning both the ECVCP and FRCPath diplomas. Later that year, Francesco joined the Animal Health Trust (AHT) as Head of the Veterinary Clinical Pathology service. In September 2015, he transitioned to BattLab (LABOKLIN), where he currently serves as Senior Veterinary Clinical Pathologist. Francesco is the current secretary of the ECVCP college and a member of the cytology examination board. He has authored several peer-reviewed publications and is the editor of three cytology books published by CRC Press and CABI. Additionally, he co-authored the cytology chapter in the BSAVA Manual of Veterinary Clinical Pathology. A regular speaker and course organizer, Francesco is actively involved with ESAVS, BSAVA, UNISVET, ESAVS Asia, and VetCPD. He was also the first veterinary clinical pathologist to integrate digital cytology into online courses.
