The EBVS grants European Veterinary Specialist status to veterinarians who have successfully completed rigorous postgraduate training, education, and examinations through one of the 27 recognized veterinary specialist colleges.
To maintain the status, EBVS® European Veterinary Specialists must demonstrate their proficiency every 5 years. Their expertise is dedicated to serving the public, animals, and the veterinary profession, providing high-quality services across diverse fields.
Since its inception in 1996 with 267 specialists, the program has grown, and the number of active EBVS® European Veterinary Specialists exceeded 4000 in 2018.
