ATU is a new Technological University in the west and northwest of Ireland formed from the merger of three Institutes of Technology in 2022. The Faculty of Science and Health is developing a new programme of study in Veterinary Medicine with a view to welcoming the first cohort of students in September 2026. At Vets Now Specialist Referrals and Out of Hours, Glasgow, we have a very rare opening for a Diplomate (RCVS, ECVS or ACVS) or Residency trained Orthopaedic Surgeon to join us on a permanent basis. Applications from Advanced Practitioners with extensive experience working in a referral hospital will also be considered, and applicants who can provide occasional support in Soft Tissue would be beneficial.

The UCD Veterinary Hospital has state of the art equipment including CT, MRI, ultrasound, interventional radiology, full endoscopy and arthroscopy, laser, a radioactive iodine unit and fully equipped surgical and intensive care suites. Ancillary support includes rehabilitation and physiotherapy. The Small Animal Clinical Studies Section currently has capacity for 13 Clinical Academics Clinicians including four surgery, six internal medicine, two emergency and critical care and one oncology specialist. These staff are supported by 10 interns (rotating and discipline specific), 9 residents and a full team of ancillary staff.
