The Small Animal Hospital of the University of Liège is seeking an experienced locum anaesthetist from now until mid-September 2026.

You will join a dynamic anaesthesia team comprising three ECVAA/ACVAA Diplomates, two clinicians, two residents, two anaesthesia interns, and two anaesthesia nurses. Our state-of-the-art hospital, which opened in 2019, manages approximately 15,000 cases per year (dogs, cats, exotics).

We provide anaesthetic support for a wide range of cases referred to the services of soft tissue surgery, surgical oncology, obstetrics, orthopaedics, neurology, internal medicine, cardiology, dermatology, ophthalmology, and diagnostic imaging, offering exposure to a diverse and challenging caseload.

Applicants must be eligible for registration with the Belgian Order of Veterinarians. The successful candidate will work five days per week, have primary case responsibility, supervise interns and final-year veterinary students, and participate in a 1-in-4 emergency anaesthesia rota.

We foster a friendly and supportive working environment and place great importance on maintaining a healthy work–life balance, allowing you to take full advantage of the many leisure opportunities available in the surrounding region.
